Chatham Emergency Squad Says Goodbye To Spanky

CHATHAM, NJ – After four decades of service and too many calls to count, Mark Spinner, AKA “Spanky” is retiring from the Chatham Emergency Squad.

Chatham Emergency Squad is a 100 percent all-volunteer agency servicing the Chathams and neighboring communities through mutual aid assistance. Currently, they are comprised of 84 active volunteers and 44 state-certified EMTs ranging in age from high school students to working professionals to retirees, each with the common goal of helping neighbors during their time of need.

For over 80 years, the Chatham Emergency Squad has never charged for its services. You can help them directly by donating here.

Spinner, beyond his service to the squad, is the mastermind behind the annual “Snow Village” hosted by the squad. The exhibit set up by Spinner features model trains and more than 100 buildings, cars and figures during the holiday. The display is always free but donations to local charities are always accepted.
