For Free
You’ll become a certified emergency technician (EMT) and will continually advance your skills & knowledge through ongoing training and experience.
An Integral
Team Member
Working alongside fellow Squad members to provide the best possible care to our patients.
A Community Collaborator
Serving alongside with other uniformed emergency personnel including police and firefighters.
Membership Requirements
Live or work in the proximity to the Chathams.
Possess the maturity and emotional resilience for the stress of emergencies.
Possess the physical strength and stamina to do the work.
Possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Take and pass a rigorous EMT course that includes 200+ hours of classroom, on-line and clinical training in the first year of membership.
Serve one 12-hour shift each week.
Serve nine weekend / holiday day shifts per year scheduled on a rotating basis.
Take a 4 hour CPR course immediately upon joining.
