Chatham Emergency Squad Welcomes New Cadet Class; Start EMT Training Together

Each year, the Chatham Emergency Squad selects six local high school sophomores to become cadet members. The cadets are attending EMT class at Union County College, where they will hone their skills in the classroom, as well as on their assigned duty shifts and in hospital rotations.

“I know our cadets are excited to have begun their EMT class and our crews welcome the energy and enthusiasm they bring to each shift,” said CES Captain Bryan McGookin.

Upon passing their final exams, they will begin riding with their crew as Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians.

CES President Nicole DiMaggio said, “We take great pride in the Chatham Emergency Squad Cadet Program. Our high school cadets gain meaningful, hands-on experience providing care to patients in Chatham and surrounding communities. We’re especially excited to welcome this new cadet class as they begin their journey. Their future looks incredibly bright!”

We are excited to announce the cadet members from the class of 2027!
