" The training you receive in being a member of the Squad prepares you for anything that comes your way regardless of the time or place. It was this kind of preparedness that helped me save a child's life while I was off duty. The Squad has forever changed my life in the best possible way."

" You can expect camaraderie, teamwork, and a bit of adrenaline that comes with lights and sirens, but what stands out to me is the ability to apply my training in real situations that has a real impact. When a neighbor calls on us to help, it reminds me that this role is part of the fabric of the community. It's an honor to be part of an organization that excels in providing the highest level of care - free of charge."

" I have lived in Chatham for nearly 40 years and have volunteered in many capacities over the years, but none more meaningful or rewarding than CES. I get such pride in putting on the uniform and helping my neighbors in need, but it's more than that - I've met so many new friends and feel so connected to such a wonderful community of people."

" After becoming an empty nester, I joined the Squad as a way to give back to the community I’ve lived in for over 25 years. Besides learning valuable skills, I’ve met incredible people from Baby Boomers to Gen Z who are smart, compassionate, and eager to work as a team to help patients in need. Joining CES was one of the best decisions I’ve made."

" Joining CES years ago laid the groundwork for my career in nursing. I continue to ride with CES as my small way of giving back to my community and because of the camaraderie that is forged with my fellow squad members when responding to various types of situations together."

" Joining a new organization and attending EMT school at age 60 was exciting and scary. Also, it turns out to have been one of the best decisions I could have made on so many levels - personally, intellectually and socially."
Carol Grant
" I've witnessed first-hand the care and professionalism the Squad provides when I've had to call 911, myself. As a volunteer, it's so much more than getting the satisfaction of helping my neighbors in need. The Squad has proven time and time again that we're a family who's always there for one another."

" The Chatham EMT community is one of the most rewarding experiences, and it feels incredible to help my neighbors when they need it the most. The combination of service, camaraderie and giving back can’t be underestimated, knowing our contributions make a difference in other’s lives."
